This iconic lighthouse is one of the most photographed in Maine. It stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. You can hike to the lighthouse from the parking lot, or take a boat tour that will get you closer to the structure.
This short and easy trail winds through a forest and along the shore of Ship Harbor. You'll see a variety of plants and animals, including lobsters, seals, and ospreys.
Maine is known for its fresh lobster, and Bass Harbor is no exception. There are many restaurants in town that serve delicious lobster dinners. You can have your lobster steamed, boiled, or grilled, and it is always served with melted butter.
This museum tells the story of the town's history and its role in the lobster industry. The museum is open to the public and is free to visit.
